Shang Chi (which can be roughly translated as "Rising of the Spirit") is a martial arts master who is the heroic son of Fu Manchu in Marvel Comics' Master of Kung Fu series.
In many respects the series is essentially a continuation of the Fu Manchu stories of Sax Rohmer, rather than about superheroes. The series also has added elements inspired by Sherlock Holmes and James Bond. Of course, Fu Manchu (and therefore Shang Chi), Sir Denis Nayland Smith , Holmes and Bond are all Wold Newton Family members.
