Ned Land is a Canadian harpoonist in the novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. Rescued, along with Professor Pierre Arronax and the Professor's manservant Conseil, from the wreckage of their ship by their submarine attacker Captain Nemo, Ned is only permitted to remain upon the Nautilus on sufferance. His main role in the book is to drive the group's attempts to escape or seize control of the boat.

According to Philip José Farmer in Tarzan Alive and Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life, Ned married Marie Chauvelin and named their youngest daughter Arronaxe for the Professor. Farmer also notes the name of the eldest Land daughter, Edwina. Arronaxe was the grandmother of Doc Savage, and Edwina the mother of Sam Spade.

In his article The Land Family, Wold Newton researcher Brad Mengel states that Edwina was actually the second daughter, and that she had an elder sister, Michelle, and brother, Jacques. Youngest of all were two brothers, Peter and Edward.
