Leo Queequeg Tincrowder appears in Philip José Farmer's novel Stations of the Nightmare. A fellow-science fiction author, Tincrowder also co-wrote the short story "Osiris on Crutches" with Farmer.

Leo's sister Samantha Tincrowder married their relative, another genre writer, Jonathan Swift Somers III. Leo and Samantha's parents were Frank Bloom Tincrowder and Allegra Shawnessy; the latter's ancestry is discussed by Farmer in Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life.
