Mortimer Gerald Wimsey, 15th Duke of Denver

Mortimer Gerald Wimsey, 3rd Duke of Denver of the second creation (commonly called the 15th Duke), was the father of Lord Peter Wimsey in the books by Dorothy L. Sayers, although he dies before the series has begun. His widow, the Dowager Duchess of Denver, his son and heir Gerald Christian, and his daughter Lady Mary Wimsey all figure in the books. The Duke is to be found in the Wold Newton Family tree as set out by Philip José Farmer in Tarzan Alive, although for reasons connected to his parents George Bredon Wimsey, 14th Duke of Denver and Joane Clayton, the title is usually rendered as 'Duke of Pomver'. Furthermore, Farmer identifies the 15th Duke as the half-brother of Lord John Roxton.
